PURPOSE

Transforming an improvement opportunity into a value-added solution that aligns with organizational vision and culture requires planning. Creating process action plans will ensure there is clarity surrounding the stakeholders that will be participating in the effort, the actions required, and milestones and deadlines for assigned worked. Having process action plans in place will serve as the basis for monitoring progress against continuous improvement activities.

SUB-ACTIVITIES

  1. Draft Process Action Plan.

    • Draft a Process Action Plan for each improvement opportunity that has been accepted for action.

    • Process action plans should address:

      • the stakeholders who will participate
      • the problem that is being addressed, and any expected outcomes
      • acceptance criteria for the eventual solution
      • when action will be performed, including target completion date.
  2. Gain Commitment to Plan.

    • Review process action plan with stakeholders involved.
    • Solicit stakeholder commitment to the plan.

OUTPUTS

Process Action Plan (should contain stakeholders involved, problem being addressed, acceptance criteria, target completion date)
