PURPOSE

While process tailoring can fine-tune a project’s process, it is still important that the organization assist in guiding teams through the best practices of tailoring itself. Tailoring may also be used as a way to pilot new processes.

ENTRY CRITERIA

ASG needs to define the entry criteria for the following process: Review Process Tailoring Request.

SUB-ACTIVITIES

1. Gather Stakeholder Input

   • The Process Engineer ensure relevant stakeholders review the request and have ample time to voice objections or suggestions.

2. Analyze Request

   • The Process Engineer conducts an impact analysis to ensure other impacted processes have been addressed through the tailoring request.

3. Approve or Reject Tailoring Request

   • The Process Engineer provides interim approval the request if the value outweighs the risk and buy-in is achieved from relevant stakeholders.
   • The requestor implements the change and reports the consequences of the change back to the process group within an agreed amount of time identified in the request.
   • The Process Engineer approves the request and records the change and informs relevant stakeholders.

OUTPUTS

• Approved or Rejected Process Tailoring Request

EXIT CRITERIA

• The Process Tailoring Request has been approved or rejected.
