Conduct Hiring Manager Technical Phone Screening

PURPOSE

Conduct technical/functional phone interviews to identify best qualified candidate to fill an open Requisition ID.

WHEN

Performed every time a qualified candidate is identified to move forward from the HR Phone Screen.

ENTRY CRITERIA

The recruiting team identify qualified candidates based on positive recruiter phone screen. Recruiter phone screen notes saved in candidate profile in ATS.

SUB-ACTIVITIES

  1. Conduct Technical/Functional Phone Screen

    • The recruiting team schedules technical/functional phone screen(s) with Hiring Manager and screened candidate(s).
    • Recruiter consults with technical/functional interviewer to determine whether to push candidate forward for an onsite interview or to decline candidate.
    • If candidate is declined, Recruiter calls or emails candidate to inform them of status.
    • If candidate is approved, Recruiter moves them forward to onsite interview stage.
  2. Obtain and Assess Interview Feedback

    • Recruiter sends interview feedback request email to Hiring Manager/ technical screening team within 1 hour of interview completion, requesting feedback and hiring recommendation within 24 hours.
    • Recruiter consults with Hiring Manager or Business Unit Lead (BUL) to determine if a panel interview should be conducted.
    • If a candidate is not selected to move forward, the Recruiter will notify the candidate they have not been selected for the position.

OUTPUTS

  • Screening interview notes on all candidates interviewed in Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

EXIT CRITERIA

  • Qualified candidate is advanced for panel interview
