Data Management Strategy¶
A Data Management Strategy (DMS) artifact defines why an organization, or product team, is implementing a data management program. It explains what the overall program aims to achieve and identifies how the various components of the initiative fit together. It accurately reflects the business objectives of data suppliers and consumers to give stakeholders the confidence that the data management program will be valuable. A functional DMS should be developed collaboratively and approved by all stakeholders and provide a foundation for buy-in to the strategy and corresponding plan for implementation.
