Causal Analysis

A form field in the Opportunity Work Item and the Issue Work Item .

Use the causal analysis field to capture the analysis work for determining the root cause of the opportunity.

Five why’s is the default method for causal analysis. Other methodologies exist and may be suitable for specific problem spaces.

The simplest method for capturing the causal analysis is to use the Issue Root Cause Analysis Tool or to record the answers to each of the five why’s questions in the causal analysis field of the work item.
